We are seeking highly motivated individuals with interest in wildlife and environmental communications. The Education Program Development intern will develop and implement a web-based distance learning program while gaining leadership skills and experience assisting in the coordination and facilitation of education outreach and summer camp programs.
The Education Program Development intern will gain hands-on experience with wildlife, interact directly with center guests, and assist in conducting outreach and camp programming. Applicants with strong communication skills, attention to detail, youth leadership experience and proficiency in computer skills, including word processing, graphics programs, and two way audio-visual teleconferencing, will be given priority.
Supervision:
- The Education Program Development intern will report directly to the Executive Director and the Education Coordinator.
Requirements:
- Each intern must be a currently enrolled, full-time, undergraduate student who will be returning to college as a full-time sophomore, junior, or senior student for at least the fall semester after the internship. Full-time enrollment is defined as 12 or more credits in one semester.
- Before the internship can begin, the student must provide the TWRC Wildlife Center with written enrollment verification from the college confirming the student's enrollment status. Student ID cards and/or phone calls are not sufficient documentation. Official enrollment verification must come from a university's registrar office. - This intern must be seeking a degree in environmental communication, education, natural resource interpretation, recreation or other similar degrees. Degrees in audio/visual technologies or visual communications will be considered.
- This intern must be available June 4, 2012 – July 27, 2012. Hours must be flexible as some weekend or evening programs may be required. General hours will be 10:00am to 5:30pm.
- This intern must follow all TWRC Wildlife Center policies, procedures and safety protocols.
- Housing and transportation to and from the TWRC Wildlife Center will be the responsibility of the intern.
- Applicants must submit a complete resume and cover letter by the deadline listed below.
- Interns who previously participated in the ExxonMobil Community Summer Jobs Program may again seek an internship in 2012 as long as he/she works for a different agency.
