Our History

TWRC Wildlife Center was originally founded in 1979 as the result of wildlife being in need of clean-up following an oil spill.

In 1992, TWRC Wildlife Center began operations as a Wildlife Emergency Center and Educational Facility. This established TWRC Wildlife Center as Houston's first wildlife rehabilitation organization operating an emergency room to which the public could bring ill, injured, and orphaned wildlife.

To promote environmental conservation through public education and rehabilitation of native Texas wildlife.
